Gino Blanc

Gino Blanc was born in Venice in 1974. Contemporary artist and visual thinker, he has experimented with new languages to create expressive panoramas. Blanc’s work ranges from large canvases, to sculptures, to installations with the use of the most different materials: painting, collage, printing, overlapping of images and materials. Estimator of geometry, Blanc uses lines to define the contours and give rigor to the shape and to then expand towards an explosion of shades. The dense and material color sometimes recalls the artificiality of pop art.

Blanc’s work is charged with paradoxes, if on the one hand it attracts the viewer, on the other it pushes it away. The precision of the lines is accompanied by confusion, in a constant dialogue between the pure design and the imaginative gaze. Experimentalism in the use of new materials and the observation of everyday life make Blanc a contemporary artist inspired by the reality of his time.

The precision of the lines is accompanied by confusion, in a constant dialogue between the pure design and the imaginative gaze. Experimentalism in the use of new materials and the observation of everyday life make Blanc a contemporary artist inspired by the reality of his time.

Blanc reflects on the everyday, on the transitory nature of modern humanity as in his series of works representing waiting rooms and airplanes. The non-places, recognizable at first sight, contain a story to tell. Blanc interacts with these spaces by creating moments of reflection, on the journey, the distance, the escape from reality.

His artistic production can be traced back to the visual suggestions and to the sensitive inner part, the most intimate core of the personal sphere. The work develops naturally without achieving a pre-established plan and becomes evocative. In Blanc’s works not everything is visible, they underlie and allude to something else, they lead the viewer to a personal reflection, to an inner journey. The material experimentalism and the visionary dimension become tools for the artist’s personal research.

Graduated in optics from the Fleming Institute of Treviso, in 2006 he attended the Complutense University of Madrid, specializing in mural painting. In 2007, he graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice and in 2010 he specialized in painting.

Venetian author, well known within the territory where he has exhibited in numerous galleries, he lives in Venice where he teaches at the artistic high school.
