Gil Bruvel was born in Sidney, Australia in 1959, to French parents. The artist’s poetics moves from painting to sculpture, through the use of colors, graphite pencils, bronze and steel. Bruvel’s work, constantly evolving, emerges from a deep and meticulous observation of images, emotions and sensations, which are later on transformed into real material. The extreme curiosity of the human condition and the functioning of the mind, from which it draws for his work production, is accompanied by a rigorous practice of daily meditation.
